Hire Resolve's client is a prominent packaging firm located in the Western Cape. They are currently looking for a Logistics Warehouse Supervisor to manage their packaging warehouse operations on a temporary contract. The Logistics Warehouse Supervisor will be accountable for overseeing the daily functions of the warehouse, which includes inventory oversight, shipping and receiving, and order processing. The ideal candidate should possess prior experience in warehouse supervision within the packaging sector and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outbound Dispatch: Lead the dispatch department to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Inbound Receiving & Storage: Oversee the receiving department, focusing on supplier quality management, data entry, labeling, secure packing, and storage processes.
  • Internal Stock Transfers: Manage all internal stock transfer needs between various warehouses.
  • Returns and Credit Notes: Ensure adherence to internal procedures regarding returned goods and credit documentation.
  • Damaged Stock Management: Handle escalations and resolutions related to internal damaged stock and factory defects.
  • Inventory Oversight: Lead all stock counting activities within the warehouse to prevent losses.
  • Stock Level Monitoring: Supervise stock and consumable levels, initiating procurement for replenishment as necessary.
  • Collaboration with Production: Work closely with production and sales teams regarding order fulfillment.
  • Third-Party Relationships: Foster and maintain beneficial relationships with all service providers.
  • Customer Service: Address and resolve all internal and external customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Documentation Management: Oversee all data entry and document generation tasks.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant safety and risk management policies within the workplace.
  • Asset Oversight: Ensure safe storage and verification of all assets.
  • Record Keeping: Manage the organization and storage of all documentation.
  • Security Management: Oversee relevant security measures and systems as applicable.
  • Payroll Administration: Handle leave management, payment reconciliations for temporary staff, and contract management.
  • Team Performance Management: Proactively monitor team performance through daily output oversight.
  • Training Coordination: Identify and coordinate operational training needs for the team.
  • HR Management: Address all team-related HR issues with guidance from HR.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure that team operations comply with all established policies and procedures.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare and submit reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Matric, with at least 2 years of proven experience in a similar warehouse supervisory role.
  • A qualification in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience in a warehouse operations environment, preferably in food packaging.
  • Proven capability in executing warehouse operational functions and processes.
  • Strong customer service skills in dispatch and service areas.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and couriers in a logistics context.
  • Exceptional coordination and administrative skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Team leadership skills, with the ability to direct, delegate, and develop staff.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Experience with WMS, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Effective communication skills across various channels.
  • Understanding of efficiency, workload, and workflow management.
  • Willingness to work on a temporary contract.
