We are seeking an experienced and skilled Workshop Foreman to join our team at Bonafide Human Capital (Pty) Ltd. As a Workshop Foreman, you will be responsible for ensuring that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians, and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified service technicians.
  • Assist technicians in developing their skills.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OHSA Right-to-Know.
  • Ensure that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for all technicians.
  • Ensure that all repairs are assigned to technicians in an equal and fair manner.
  • Provide technical support for technicians when necessary.
  • Ensure repairs are charged out correctly.
  • Check progress of each repair order throughout the day.
  • Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize comebacks.
  • Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
  • Account for all documents and ensure that none are missing or processed incorrectly.
  • Establish and maintain customer follow-up programs to confirm satisfaction with the service experience.
  • Handle all customer complaints within 24 hours.
  • Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
  • Monitor shop conditions, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment.
  • Ensure the proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools.
  • Keep abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.
  • Fill in for service advisor and dispatcher when necessary.
  • Attend manager's meetings as requested.
  • Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for a qualified technician with workshop Foreman experience. The ideal candidate will have sound communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively with people, build team spirit, and reconcile conflict.

The successful candidate will also have professional and technical expertise in vehicle service and repair maintenance, problem-solving and motor vehicle fault-finding skills, planning and organizing, supervising and leading, delivering results, and meeting customer expectations.
