Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Provide Geotechnical Design Criteria

Develop and provide geotechnical design criteria for open pit, underground, tunnelling, and related mining projects. This includes conducting ground investigations, interpreting in-situ testing and laboratory results, and performing numerical and empirical modelling to support design and analysis.

Conduct Ground Investigations and Interpret Results

Conduct ground investigations and interpret in-situ testing and laboratory results to inform geotechnical design decisions.

Perform Numerical and Empirical Modelling

Perform numerical and empirical modelling to support design and analysis, including tunnel and TMB design, support (lining), portal design, and slope stability analysis.

Design and Support Tunnel and TMB Structures

Design and support tunnel and TMB structures, including lining and portal design, to ensure safe and efficient tunnel construction.

Analyze Slope Stability and Recommend Support Measures

Analyze slope stability and recommend appropriate support and reinforcement measures to ensure safe and stable slopes.

Ensure Adherence to International Design Guidelines

Ensure adherence to international design guidelines and technical specifications to ensure high-quality geotechnical design.

Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical solutions into project plans and ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications
  • Proven Experience in Geotechnical Assessments

Proven experience in geotechnical assessments and stability analysis, with a strong background in international design guidelines and technical specifications.

Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex geotechnical challenges and provide innovative solutions.

Excellent Communication and Teamwork Abilities

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex geotechnical information to stakeholders.

Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Related Field

Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with a strong foundation in geotechnical principles and practices.

Proficiency in Geotechnical Software Packages

Proficiency in geotechnical software packages and rock mechanics/geotechnical software, with the ability to apply this knowledge to support geotechnical design and analysis.

Experience with Soil and Rock Mechanics

Experience with soil and rock mechanics, ground investigation studies, and design and analysis of tunnelling and slope stability, with a strong understanding of geotechnical principles and practices.
