Job Description

This Senior Packaging Design Professional role is based in an office/warehouse setting on the Umhlanga side of Durban.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative and eye-catching packaging, labels, and point-of-sale displays for consumer products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop creative packaging concepts that effectively communicate brand identity
  • Collaborate closely with industrial designers, account managers, and manufacturing teams to bring designs to life
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines effectively while maintaining high-quality standards

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years related experience in graphic design or a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience in packaging design and point-of-sale displays, preferably within the FMCG/manufacturing industry
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional skills in 3D product/packaging designs, layout, typography, and creative projects
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software (Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take initiative, follow through, and raise the bar for other designers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to grow and expand your skillset as a designer, business acumen, and project management skills
