Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Waltham Forest, East London. As a key member of our Behaviour Support Team, you will provide critical support to pupils with challenging behaviour, helping them develop essential life skills and academic knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to develop and implement individualised behaviour plans.
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement strategies to promote emotional regulation.
  • Support students in small groups or one-to-one settings, focusing on building trusting relationships and encouraging active participation.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, or Learning Support Assistant.
  • A calm, patient, and firm but fair approach to managing behaviour.
  • Confidence in using behaviour strategies and intervention techniques.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow individual behaviour support plans.
