Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Waltham Forest, East London. As a key member of our Behaviour Support Team, you will provide critical support to pupils with challenging behaviour, helping them develop essential life skills and academic knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to develop and implement individualised behaviour plans.
- Implement de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement strategies to promote emotional regulation.
- Support students in small groups or one-to-one settings, focusing on building trusting relationships and encouraging active participation.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Relevant experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, or Learning Support Assistant.
- A calm, patient, and firm but fair approach to managing behaviour.
- Confidence in using behaviour strategies and intervention techniques.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow individual behaviour support plans.
