We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Zutari. As a key member of our engineering consulting sector, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and execution of mechanical engineering projects, collaborating with other engineering disciplines.
- Develop and compile tender documents, including design specifications and schedules of quantities.
- Evaluate contractor submissions and write comprehensive reports to inform project decisions.
- Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with FIDIC and GCC Conditions of Contract.
- Supervise and review contractor detail designs, confirming adherence to specifications and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections for fabrication and installation, as well as equipment commissioning tests.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technologists.
This role requires:
- BSc/MSc, B Eng / M Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 7-8 years' experience in mechanical system planning, design, implementation, and commissioning.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA Registered).
- Experience in the engineering consulting sector, particularly in water and wastewater treatment.
- Contract management/administration skills, preferably in FIDIC and GCC Conditions of Contract.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- A valid Code EB driver's license.
