Job Summary

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the clinical service delivery in the emergency centre, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operations.
  • Manage and mentor emergency centre practitioners, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to address business requirements, improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in company-wide strategies and projects, contributing to the growth and success of Mediclinic International.
  • Initiate and drive quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the emergency centre, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Essential Education: MB BCh/MB ChB and Dip PEC (or equivalent); Emergency Medicine Specialist or Family Medicine Specialist Qualification.
  • Desired Education: FCEM, MMed EM, MPhil EM, MSc, PhD EM or equivalent.
  • Essential Minimum Experience: At least three years' experience working in an emergency centre in the private sector and at least one year of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Desired Experience: Suitable managerial and leadership involvement in the emergency medicine environment.
Key Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced clinical courses, such as Advanced Airway Management, Ultrasound, and Procedural Sedation.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations, including the Charter of the Public and Private Health Sectors of the Republic of South Africa.
  • Strong data management and report writing skills, with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific policies and procedures, including the Health Professions Act No. 56 of 1974 and the Patients' Right Charter.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
