Job Title: Senior ITSM Asset and Configuration Management SpecialistJob Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ITSM Asset and Configuration Management Specialist to lead our team in designing, configuring, and implementing an Asset and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) that integrates seamlessly with existing Asset Management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and configure an Asset and Configuration Management Database that aligns with ITIL best practices.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for asset and configuration management within the organization.
  • Create and maintain the base level for configuration items (CIs) and related information in the CMDB.
  • Ensure accurate and accessible documentation of all ICT hardware and software assets.
  • Maintain and manage relationships between CIs, ensuring accurate representation of services, systems, and applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration and alignment of IT services.
  • Configure workflows and notifications within the ITSM tool to streamline asset and configuration management processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to asset and configuration management processes, policies, and guidelines.
  • Generate regular reports on asset status, CI relationships, and compliance with ITIL standards.
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL practices and standards in all asset and configuration management activities.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of the CMDB and asset records to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members and IT staff on asset and configuration management best practices and tools.
  • Act as a point of contact for advanced queries related to asset management and the CMDB.
Requirements
  • National Diploma in IT or equivalent (mandatory).
  • ITIL Intermediate Certification (mandatory).
  • ITIL Managers/Expert Certification (advantageous).
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent preferred).
Experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in IT asset management, configuration management, or related roles.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing CMDBs and ITSM tools.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles, especially related to Asset and Configuration Management.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) and asset management systems.
  • Proficiency in configuring workflows and notifications within ITSM platforms.
