We are currently seeking a part-time lecturer to join our team, who will be responsible for teaching commerce programs. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the minds of future business leaders, providing them with the theoretical foundations necessary to excel in their fields. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of human resource management principles and practices, as well as extensive experience in lecturing or formal tutoring.

Job Responsibilities
As a lecturer in commerce programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Teaching an agreed number of hours based on module specialisation requirements.
  • Engaging and preparing students for assessments, including tracking module pacers and identifying at-risk students.
  • Managing general student administrative support, including updating learning management systems and providing feedback to students.
  • Developing assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings and monitoring student engagement and assessment submission.

Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a qualification above the program being taught (NQF level) and have relevant industry experience. A Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Human Resources Management or equivalent will be advantageous. Experience in teaching and learning theory and interventions is also desirable.

The ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.
  • Ability to provide student support services, including tracking module pacers and identifying at-risk students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
