Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist Leader at Aramex, you will be responsible for leading a team of data analysts and scientists to extract, transform, and load data, as well as undertaking data collection, data pre-processing, data engineering, feature selection, and exploratory data analysis.

You will interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, build models to address business problems, and present information using data visualization techniques.

Additionally, you will maintain and develop dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau, and maintain and develop datasets on our BI Microsoft SQL server.

Key Duties

Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes, undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data, and analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.

Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms, combine models through ensemble modeling, evaluate model performance, and use hyperparameter tuning or feature selection to improve models.

Implement object serialization, ensure model reproducibility, and present information using data visualization techniques.

Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges, collaborate with engineering and product development teams, and implement and drive new projects/models within the business.

Minimum Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Manager/Leader in a similar role.
  • Understanding of the logistics industry.
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst.
  • Experience in data mining.
  • Understanding of machine-learning and operations research.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python.
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau and Power BI).
  • Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra).
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (visual storytelling).
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or another quantitative field is preferred.
  • Valid Code 08 driver's license and own reliable transport.
