Production Management
  • Establish and maintain best practices for plant utilization and efficiency, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimal waste.
  • Manage plant projects, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Analyze and interpret production statistics and data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize plant performance.
  • Oversee the activities of all contractors on site, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Project Management
  • Manage the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring successful delivery of business projects and models.
  • Ensure plant readiness for the implementation of new business projects, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
Continuous Improvements
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in manufacturing technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Benchmark plant processes against best practices, identifying areas for improvement and driving cultural change.
  • Monitor competitors' activities and identify opportunities for improvement, staying ahead of the market.
Quality Management System
  • Maintain IATF 16949 accreditation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Improve employee awareness of quality targets and objectives, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Achieve PPM targets, ensuring optimal plant performance and customer satisfaction.
SHE
  • Address workplace hazards and risks, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Apply safety, health, and environment practices and legal requirements when working on machines and equipment, minimizing risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain ISO 14001/ISO 45001 accreditation, demonstrating commitment to environmental and occupational health and safety.
Financial Management
  • Provide input into the budget process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market demands.
  • Monitor performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Initiate requests for Capex, disposal, and transfers, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
  • Participate in the audit process, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to financial policies and procedures, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Protect company assets, working capital, and fixed assets, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimal risk.
Staff Management
  • Manage individual, team, and departmental performance to achieve organizational objectives, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manage labour stability and complement, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimal waste.
  • Participate in the implementation and utilization of equity-related processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market demands.
  • Determine the training needs of the department, driving a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Coach and counsel staff to ensure improved performance levels, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure discipline is maintained in the department, addressing absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, and other performance issues.
  • Resolve grievances and disputes, ensuring a fair and equitable work environment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in the Automotive industry.
  • Understanding of an income statement, balance sheet, and financial ratios.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles to ensure good management of the Process Engineering department.
  • Good technical aptitude to ensure management of the Maintenance department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of delivering business growth and profitability in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in implementing new equipment, technology, and processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
