Hedz Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Civil Draughtsman to join our client's engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare drawings in accordance with instructions received from the design team and conforming to the company's Drawing Office Standards.
  • Maintain accurate drawing revision control.
  • Take responsibility for the correctness of work done.
  • Undergo training in order to maintain existing skills or to develop new skills.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings as required.
  • Keep team members and project managers informed of workload and deadlines to assist with work schedule.
  • Assist, teach and mentor less experienced draughtspersons.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years General Civil Engineering Experience Required
  • Certified AutoCAD Operator, or National Certificate: Multi-disciplinary Drawing Office Practice, or National Diploma in Engineering.
  • Membership of the South African Institute of Draughting (SAID)
  • AutoCAD, other Autodesk packages. Civil Designer or Civil 3D advantageous
Skills:
  • Understanding of industry codes and standards and client specifications.
  • Computer literacy: ability in some or all of AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Revit, Inventor, MS Office.
  • Three-dimensional visualisation ability.
  • Mathematical ability.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Administrative, planning, time management and organising skills.
  • Understanding of engineering concepts, design processes and application of knowledge.
  • Understanding of engineering construction processes.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work under the direction of an engineer / engineering technologist / engineering technician and will be required to work independently.
