Pharmacist Intern Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Pharmacist Intern to join their team at the Okavango store. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical environment and develop their skills in providing quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances
  • Help with the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile or sterile medicines or scheduled substances
  • Contribute to the manufacturing of non-sterile or sterile medicines or scheduled substances
  • Re-package medicines and distribute and control stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 6 medicines or scheduled substances
  • Order medicines and scheduled substances according to instructions
  • Read and prepare prescriptions, select, manipulate, or compound medicines, label and supply medicines in appropriate containers
  • Provide instructions on the correct use of medicines supplied and promote health
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification
  • BPharm degree
  • Computer literacy and MS Office skills
  • Ability to work during degree holiday work
  • Unisolve and E-Scripting skills advantageous
