We are looking for a highly organized Purchase Manager to lead the procurement process for Engineering design phase 1 in our client's state-of-the-art solar PV systems. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, and timely delivery while adhering to the company's procurement quality policies.

Duties & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance across all countries in Africa where installations are required.
  • Develop and maintain updated price lists for the Engineering Department to facilitate detailed project costing.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and handover procurement lists to the Project Management Department.
  • Review project budgets and provide signatory approval on behalf of the Engineering Department.
  • Monitor and drive credit applications with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine product and service needs, monitoring business trends and product availability to secure the best prices without compromising quality or delivery times.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers, negotiating optimal prices for company goods and services.
  • Research and identify potential new suppliers and products to meet company goals.
  • Assess total costs of company purchases and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing products, including stock and inventory management.
  • Ensure adherence to company ISO 9001 & 45001 Compliances across all branches in Africa.
