Job Title: Youth Program Manager

Job Summary:

Anova Health Institute is seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Program Manager to oversee the implementation of our Adolescent and Youth Programme. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of staff, coordinating activities, and ensuring the successful delivery of programme objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in youth development, HIV prevention, and care. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we provide opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of staff, including social workers, auxiliary workers, and counsellors
  • Coordinate programme activities, including training, mentorship, and supervision
  • Ensure effective collaboration with sub-district teams, facilities, and other stakeholders
  • Mentor and support Youth Care Club facilitators to provide psychosocial support to adolescents
  • Facilitate integration of GBV services into routine core packages for adolescents and youth
  • Support implementation of Adolescents and Youth Friendly Services (AYFS) through establishment of youth-friendly spaces and days
  • Provide psychosocial support to adolescents at high risk of poor adherence and defaulting
  • Identify training needs within the ANOVA team and at supported facilities
  • Provide training and mentorship to relevant staff on key issues related to management of adolescents living with HIV or at risk of contracting HIV
  • Establish, manage, and maintain working relations with supported sub-districts, facilities, and other partner stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work, Social Science, or relevant health-related qualification
  • Registration with the relevant South African Council or Professional Body
  • At least 2-5 years of experience working in youth and/or HIV programmes, including supervising social auxiliary workers or other junior staff
  • Training in I-ACT and NAS (National Adherence Strategy) is advantageous
  • Good presentation and excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
