About the Role

Black Pen Recruitment is seeking a skilled Travel Industry Specialist to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and preparing travel itineraries for FIT clients based on their unique needs and requirements.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have extensive travel and tourism knowledge of Southern African destinations, with at least 5 years' experience within the travel industry or similar environment. You will work closely with clients to understand their brief, budget, and capabilities, and design personalized itineraries that meet their expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and prepare travel itineraries for FIT clients
  • Cost and plan leisure travel programmes within the company's destination portfolio
  • Ensure all processes are in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Correspond with clients regarding programmes offered and deal with any questions or obstacles timeously
  • Invoice clients for travel programmes
  • Contract suppliers and liaise with them during planning and execution stages
  • Manage workload efficiently and prioritize key clients and urgent requests
  • Implement and maintain smart quoting
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hotel Management, or Events Management
  • At least 5 years' working experience within the travel industry or similar environment
  • Extensive travel and tourism knowledge of Southern African destinations
  • Working knowledge of the leisure travel industry
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of WETU and Travelogic an advantage
