Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead our property portfolio financial management team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for our property portfolio, including revenue analysis, cash flows, and variance analysis.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop comprehensive property budgets and forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budgeted figures and providing detailed variance analyses.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee accounts receivable for the property portfolio, ensuring timely invoicing and rent collection, addressing outstanding receivables, and resolving discrepancies effectively.
  • Lease Administration: Maintain up-to-date lease databases, accurately recording lease terms, rent escalations, and other critical lease transactions, calculating and processing tenant rent adjustments as necessary.
Requirements:
  • A three-year Accounting Qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Pastel and MDA Property Management Software, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and trends effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The estimated salary for this position is approximately R600,000 - R800,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
