Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Garment Pattern Designer to join our team at TFG Design Centre. This is a dynamic and creative role that requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Create garment patterns on computer using Lectra software, based on sketches provided by designers.
  • Liaise with designers to ensure accurate interpretation of design requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with sample room teams to facilitate efficient production.
  • Measure garments to ensure precise fit and quality.
  • Develop grading skills to create consistent and accurate pattern pieces.
  • Attend fit sessions with designers to ensure optimal garment interpretation.
  • Liaise with retail technologists to ensure seamless integration with manufacturing processes.
  • Handle queries from factories in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in pattern making, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high degree of accuracy, with a strong focus on detail and precision.
  • Good planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic, with the ability to meet deadlines in a pressured environment.
  • Ability to multitask, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivation, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and initiative-taking.
  • Advantageous: experience with Lectra windows system, grading skills, and sound decision-making abilities.

Benefits and Salary

Estimated annual salary: R250,000 - R350,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
