Job Overview

Thusa Batho Labour Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Actuary to provide expert actuarial services, focusing on employee benefits, risk assessments, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping the organisation effectively manage costs and liabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement actuarial models to assess financial risks and liabilities for employees transitioning from a provident fund to the GEPF.
  • Calculate future costs and liabilities for an additional medical aid offering to retirees, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Design and develop models to support risk assessment and decision-making for new projects, leveraging advanced analytical techniques.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the organisation's financial stability.
  • Develop and maintain project actuarial metrics and models for operational projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Must be a qualified actuary (FASSA-Fellowship member) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Excellent leadership abilities, with a focus on employee benefits, capital, and reserving.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, risk assessment, and decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
