Job Overview

On Line Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial records and ensure the accuracy of financial statements. This role plays a key part in preparing financial reports, maintaining general ledger accounts and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Performance Areas:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as monthly management accounts.
  • Operations: Record journal entries, maintain accurate general ledger accounts, reconcile bank statements, creditor and debtors accounts, process invoices, payments and payroll.
  • Budgeting: Assist in developing and monitoring budgets.
  • Compliance: Prepare tax returns, liaise with Auditors during financial audits, prepare documents as requested by SARS, and prepare necessary documents as required by Department of Labour for EE and BEE on quarterly basis.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective financial systems and processes.
  • Liaise with senior management and stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support.
Requirements:
  • B.Com Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Pastel Partner).
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and not awaiting for instructions from senior staff, ethical conduct and confidentiality in handling financial data.
  • Own reliable transport with a valid drivers license and required to travel when requested.
