Job Title: Supply Chain System Analyst

At Assign Services (Pty) Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain System Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the supply chain activities in South Africa, ensuring operational implementation, cost control, and procedural compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and reporting: Provide regular reports to national management on supply chain design, business plan simulations, financial simulations, and operations process design and simulation.
  • Warehousing KPIs: Analyze and monitor warehousing KPIs, and develop action plans to improve performance.
  • Method harmonization: Harmonize methods used in the country to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • ABC analysis: Conduct ABC analysis for new and existing clients to optimize inventory management.
  • Productivity reports: Generate productivity reports to identify areas for improvement.
IS Support:
  • Collaboration with IS department: Work closely with the IS department to ensure the correct solution is provided.
  • Level 1 support: Provide level 1 support to resolve technical issues.
Commercial Support:
  • Business plan template: Support local teams in completing the business plan template.
  • RFQ/PS: Ensure warehouse RFQ/PS are in line with best practices.
  • Client support: Support local teams in responding to RFQ/PS and providing an optimum solution to the client.
Compliance:
  • SOP alignment: Align practical SOP with documentation and actual activity in the warehouse.
  • IT infrastructure: Ensure IT infrastructure and WMS implemented for warehousing operations are compliant with IT Department best practices.
Project Participation:
  • Project conception: Participate in the conception of projects.
  • Technical solutions: Design technical solutions for logistic projects.
  • Solution validation: Define, validate solutions, and procedures to be implemented.
Implementation:
  • Project team: Participate in the project team.
  • Documentation: Produce all necessary documentation.
  • WMS testing: Perform all WMS solution tests.
  • Training: Train end users.
  • Go-live support: Provide support for go-live.
Day-to-Day Operations:
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot production issues.
  • Root cause analysis: Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Liaison: Liaise with vendor and/or regional IT to close issues.
  • Support documentation: Develop support documentation.
  • Liaison: Liaise with operations and/or customers.
  • Operations participation: Participate in operations.
  • Process analysis: Analyze respect of processes and WMS use.
  • Data integrity: Control integrity of WMS data.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Advice and assistance: Provide advice and technical assistance to customers, operations, and sales.
  • Supply Chain information: Communicate with the network Supply Chain information about all possibilities.
  • Liaison: Liaise with operations/client/regional team.
  • Improvement solutions: Propose solutions of improvement and reorganization.
  • Continuous improvement projects: Follow-up and reporting regular of the continuous improvement projects.
Company Relationships:
  • Supply Chain manager: Liaise with Supply Chain manager.
  • Supply Operation manager: Liaise with Supply Operation manager.
  • Warehouse manager: Liaise with Warehouse manager.
  • IT/IS teams: Collaborate with IT/IS teams.
  • Project team: Participate in the project team.
  • All support functions: Liaise with all support functions (QHSE, HR, etc.).
External Relationships:
  • Clients: Analyze, propose solutions, and implement for clients.
  • Suppliers: Research best solutions and best costs for suppliers.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Tertiary education in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Training in MS Office suite and other industry-related courses will be an advantage.
  • 2-3 years' experience in supply chain or a related field.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the departmental and company procedure manual.
  • Ensure that I understand the Rules and Regulations of all statutory bodies.
  • Ensure that the Company's Principles are adhered to.
  • To be fully aware of and comply with current responsibilities and requirements of the relevant Acts, Regulations, and standard applicable Quality, Health, and Safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Report all hazards, incidents, and injuries in accordance with legislation and company reporting procedures.
  • Participate in programs and assessments to improve IMS system in the workplace.
