Senior Cloud Data Engineer Role

E-Merge is passionate about offering innovative solutions to its clients, and we're looking for a talented Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement large-scale, critical data solutions using AWS services.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ingest data from various sources into AWS S3, RDS, or Redshift.
  • Utilize AWS Lambda (C# or Python) for event-driven data transformations and ensure data security and integrity.
  • Collaborate on automating the migration process from development to production in AWS and deliver high-quality, data-driven insights to support business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Python/C# development and AWS data engineering.
  • AWS certifications such as Cloud Practitioner, SysOps Associate, Developer Associate, Architect Associate, and Architect Professional.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud workload optimization for cost, scalability, availability, governance, and compliance.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

About the Role:

This is a permanent, hybrid position in Johannesburg offering a competitive salary of R800k up to R1mil per annum negotiable based on experience.
