Job Description:

At Mediclinic International, we are committed to providing high-quality patient care that meets the healthcare needs of our patients. As a Care Worker Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting nursing unit staff in delivering safe and quality patient care.

The main purpose of this job is to support nursing unit staff in the delivery of quality patient care within a team approach. This includes identifying and reporting risks in line with hospital policies, contributing to a positive patient experience through assisting the nursing unit staff, and ensuring that required stock is utilized efficiently and accurately charged.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support and assist nursing unit staff in delivering quality patient care.
  2. Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies.
  3. Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting the nursing unit staff.
  4. Provide administrative support to the nursing unit staff as specified.
  5. Participate in continuous personal development to contribute to a learning environment that builds staff competence.
  6. Ensure efficient and accurate charging of required stock.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Understanding of stock control principles.
  • Reporting and documenting events/tasks.
  • Knowledge of medico-legal risks.
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks.
  • Understanding of patient experience aspects.
  • Understanding of patient care principles.
  • Application of infection prevention and control principles.
