About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecommunications Professional to join our team at DS Associates in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and optimisation of our Core network infrastructure.

The Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Maintaining and enhancing our IP core and transmission network to ensure we meet the uptime requirements of the network.
  • Managing physical infrastructure around the country at the main peering points, mainly the 3 Teraco's.
  • Configuring and managing the Core IP equipment.
  • Managing and securing all IP Peering and Peering policies.
  • Optimising and managing route and traffic flows.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong background in telecommunications and networking.
  • Experience with Mikrotik Routers and Switches.
  • Technical certifications: MikroTik (MTCTE, MTCRE, MTCNA), Fortinet (NSE1), Cisco (CCNA, CCDP, CCNP or other certifications).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
