Job Description

Oxyon People Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Design Draughtsman to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design

  • Collaborate with clients, management, and colleagues to develop plant layouts and product designs in AutoCAD 3D and Solidworx.
  • Conceptualize and detail design products and complete plants.
  • Create manufacturing drawings in .dxf format.
  • Manage procurement, receive, and check parts as required.
  • Develop standard products in conjunction with the company's personnel, including tested designs, manufacturing drawings, quotations, suppliers, procurement lists, and design reviews.

2. Office Management

  • Report to the Drawing Office Manager and manage other designers when required.
  • Oversee drawings and model configuration.
  • Update drawing registers, storage, and backup systems.

3. Quality

  • Conduct design reviews with management and clients to ensure high-quality designs.

4. Engineering & Workshop Support

  • Analyze engineering problems and provide solutions.
  • Develop and implement process and manufacturing planning and follow-up procedures.

5. Checking and Control

  • Verify models and drawings for correctness and manufacturability.
  • Compile a self-check list to prevent recurring mistakes and ensure consistency.
  • Adhere to the company's standards for design and production.

6. Marketing Assistance

  • Prepare design quotations based on concept designs.
  • Develop a draught-specific statement of work to accompany quotations.
  • Standardize work procedures for efficient design and production processes.

7. Drawing Office Project Management

  • Develop project schedules and assign realistic timelines.
  • Meet and review project progress regularly.

8. Company Expectations

  • Proven track record of relevant design experience for similar products.
  • Minimum 5 years of Solidworx design experience.
  • Proficiency in Solidworx software.
  • Flow simulation and FEA proficiency are advantageous.
