About the Job:

We are looking for a talented Radio Interferometry Expert to join our team at the National Research Foundation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and applying novel radio interferometric calibration and imaging techniques & algorithms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the results of investigations and experiments and express conclusions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop methods, algorithms, numerical models, and techniques for radio interferometric data processing to enhance data quality and accuracy.
  • Participate in scientific and technical working groups to share knowledge and expertise.
  • Teach the theory and practice of radio interferometry at different educational levels, providing hands-on training and mentorship.
Requirements:
  • Three years' experience working in a research and/or HPC environment with a Master's degree or higher.
  • Five years' experience working in a research and/or HPC environment with an Honours degree or higher.
  • A Bachelor's Honours/Master's/PhD degree in astronomy, physics, mathematics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
