Job Description

We are seeking a Compensation and Appointments Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Premier in the Western Cape Government. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing operational procedures, processes, and ensuring operational productivity. This role involves effective and efficient administration to appoint and compensate employees.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and undertake the more complex implementation and maintenance of people management administration practices.
  2. Render all administrative services related to appointments and payroll matters.
  3. Verification of qualifications.
  4. Handle people management administrative related enquiries.
  5. Perform supervisory tasks: Motivate, train and guide staff.
  6. Administer requests for Acting with Remuneration in accordance with Acting policy.

Requirements
  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of the following: Appointments and Compensation; PERSAL certification; Experience in acting allowances and complex calculations including OSD.

What We Offer
The remuneration package includes a salary of R 308 154 per annum (Salary Level 7). Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees are funded or co-funded in terms of applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
