Senior Civil Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Quantity Surveyor to lead their team in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, to ensure project success.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Monitor project costs and variations, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and minimizing financial risks.
  • Prepare and submit progress claims, valuations, and final accounts to stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough financial assessments of potential projects, including cost estimates and feasibility studies.
  • Manage commercial risks and provide expert advice on dispute resolution to protect the company's interests.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure effective cost control and financial management, driving project success.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering projects, with a strong track record of success.
  • Proven experience in civil projects, with a preference for civil infrastructure projects, but roads and earthworks experience also considered.
  • Familiarity with GCC and FIDIC forms of contracts is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant construction contracts, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and meet project deadlines.
