About the Role

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled Civil Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in a leading construction project in South Africa. As a Civil Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs and contractual matters on various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, taking into account various factors such as materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Quantity Take-Offs and Measurements: Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and measurements to ensure accurate cost estimates and project timelines.
  • Cost Control and Reporting: Manage and control project costs, including tracking and reporting on cost variations, to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Tender and Contract Management: Prepare and analyze tender and contract documents to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Subcontractor and Supplier Management: Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Contractual Claims and Settlements: Provide advice on contractual claims and settlement of final accounts to ensure fair and timely resolution.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards to maintain a high level of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering projects.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction processes and materials, proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication and negotiation skills, and ability to work effectively in a team and meet project deadlines.
  • Advantageous Qualifications: Experience or capability to manage a civil project with values of R200 million, experience in both GCC and FIDIC forms of contracts.
