We are seeking a skilled linguistic consultant to join our team at Mindrift. As a freelance linguistics expert, you will play a vital role in advancing the field of artificial intelligence through collaborative Generative AI projects with domain experts.

About The Role

Our goal is to make generative AI models capable of addressing specialized questions and achieving complex reasoning skills. You will join the project as an AI tutor in linguistics where you will have the opportunity to develop complex question-answer pairs and create scoring criteria (rubrics) to evaluate and grade the quality of responses.

  • You will generate prompts that challenge the AI and are likely to produce incorrect responses
  • Define comprehensive scoring criteria for evaluating the correctness of the AI's answers
  • Correct the AI's responses based on domain-specific knowledge

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or PhD in Linguistics
  • Professional experience in General Linguistics, Theoretical Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Neurolinguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Sociolinguistics, Computational Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Historical Linguistics, Anthropological Linguistics, Comparative Linguistics, Forensic Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Dialectology, Phonetics and Phonology, Pragmatics, Lexicography, Language Documentation, Language Typology, Cognitive Linguistics, Language Evolution, Language Policy and Planning, Sign Linguistics
  • An advanced level of English (C1) or above
  • Able to learn new methods, switch between tasks and topics quickly, and work with challenging guidelines
  • The freelance role is fully remote, requiring only a laptop, internet connection, time available, and enthusiasm to take on a challenge
