Job Title: Advisor, Agriculture

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced agricultural advisor to join our team at Standard Bank Group. As an agricultural advisor, you will play a critical role in providing professional advisory services to the agricultural market, supporting the optimal management of agricultural books and profitability in line with business objectives and risk parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to agricultural clients on crop management, market trends, and risk management strategies.
  • Develop and implement effective business plans to optimize agricultural profitability and minimize risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on business opportunities in the agricultural sector.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners to drive business growth and success.

Requirements:

  • Commerce graduate, preferably BSc Agric (Economics), B.Agri Man (Hons), or B.Comm (Agric) Honours.
  • FAIS compliant.
  • 5-7 years relevant experience in diverse agricultural businesses, property valuation, economic and credit principles.
  • Experience in preparing and motivating credit applications is essential for arbitration purposes.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and sales management is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relationship manager in an Agric portfolio.
  • Valid driver's license.
