Production Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our team at The Talent Room. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our production team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on skills and workload.
- Monitor workforce productivity and adjust staffing as needed to meet production targets and manage labour costs within budget constraints.
- Maintain a skills matrix to identify training needs and gaps.
- Develop and implement training plans to enhance team members' skills.
- Assess team members' performance and provide feedback for improvement.
- Review and certify timesheets to ensure accurate recordkeeping of working hours.
- Conduct performance reviews of line leaders under your supervision.
- Address disciplinary issues promptly and in line with company policies.
- Oversee material handling and inventory management using the Translution system.
- Investigate and address any issues related to production jobs.
- Analyze production variances from set targets and take corrective actions.
- Monitor production output to ensure it meets quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Set clear production targets for the shift based on overall goals and available resources.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shift-related data for reporting purposes.
- Generate and share shift performance dashboards with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks and issues and develop proactive plans to address them.
- Conduct debrief meetings with the shift team to discuss performance, challenges, and improvements.
- Matric Qualification with 5+ years' experience in a similar role in a factory environment.
- 5+ years of practical experience at a supervisory level.
- Strong leadership and ownership skills.
- Confident decision-making skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Assertiveness and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
