Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire & Life Safety Designer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and editing drawings and sketches in compliance with our CAD standards and detailing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review fire and life safety drawings and models to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and submit drawings and reviews for authority approval
  • Produce high-quality CAD drawings and models to agreed deadlines
  • Work on all matters pertaining to AutoCAD and its relevant documentation for fire and life safety
  • Meet project timelines for the generation of fire and life safety designs
  • Maintain traceability and version control for all generated designs and technical submittals
  • Prepare tender documents and submittals as per project requirements
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through training modules
  • Implement and maintain our Integrated Management System (IMS) and its processes
  • Conduct all activities in a quality, healthy, and safe manner, reporting any observed problems or risks to the concerned head or personnel
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A diploma or BSc (BEng) in Architecture Engineering, preferably with a focus on fire safety and engineering
  • Strong technical skills in CAD design and analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to independently carry out project sub-tasks
  • Sound technical knowledge in fire safety and engineering within residential, commercial, and hotel sectors
