Finance and Governance Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance and Governance Admin Assistant to join our team at Signa Group. As a key member of our finance department, you will provide essential support to the Finance and Governance Manager and the broader finance team.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management Support: Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets and financial forecasts, manage client-related funds, maintain accurate financial records, identify potential cash flow issues, and monitor financial controls.
- Accounting Process & Reporting: Review and process accounting transactions, manage invoice collection, prepare payment batches, handle independent contractors' invoices, verify catering invoices, and perform credit card and petty cash reconciliations.
- Bank Payments & Cash Flow Management: Prepare payment batches, track and report on capital expenditure, and maintain detailed records of payments and transactions.
- Compliance & Governance Support: Assist with submissions for tenders and grants, review and update financial policies and procedures, manage and update asset registers, and maintain compliance documentation.
- Office & Facility Support: Assist with office management duties, facility maintenance, vehicle control registers, driver accountability, and coordinate with Shared Services for office infrastructure needs.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required)
- 0-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance regulations
- Experience in processing transactions and supporting financial reporting
- Familiarity with financial software and systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Familiarity with AI and automation tools for office productivity
- Solid understanding of financial principles and accounting processes
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Effective communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (experience with XERO is an advantage)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive approach to learning and professional development
The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
