Ecommerce Manager

We are seeking an experienced Ecommerce Manager to join our team at RareCruit. As an Ecommerce Manager, you will be responsible for managing our owned Ecommerce site in South Africa and developing the annual business plan at account level, cascading from the overall E-commerce business plan. Key responsibilities include reviewing and providing inputs of the sales performance against the plan on a regular basis, coordinating with the retail merchandising teams to identify products based on the strategy, events and customer base of the partner organization and own e-commerce, and undertaking market study to develop an understanding of the competitor pricing, promotional offers, gaps, etc. to develop targeted interventions and plans.

In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with Commercial teams and external partners to identify opportunities for expansion and ensure overall pipeline & revenue growth, ensuring that the required inventory levels are maintained across e-commerce platform, and reviewing and monitoring logistic operations to ensure timely dispatch of the Purchase orders. You will also be responsible for ensuring that A+ content & long & short product descriptions for each product is developed and updated in the attribute templates, and ensuring that the standardization of the images of products are created and uploaded in the website as per timelines and defined processes. Furthermore, you will manage escalations related to promotion/ discount negotiations, coordinate with internal and external marketing teams to co-create new opportunities of marketing, and evaluate the plan developed by the marketing teams and provide recommendations to ensure achievement of the target at lowest possible cost. You will also forge strategic alliances with banks, wallets, UPI platforms, couponing websites, affiliate sites etc. to drive traffic to own e-commerce, and manage the activation of promotions/offers as per the plan to optimize sales. Finally, you will conduct root cause analysis on frequently raised complaints by vendor; analyze and take corrective measures.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of 5 years of experience in ecommerce domain, preferably in the retail sector. They will have knowledge of ecommerce operations, retailing and merchandising, and knowledge of e-commerce promotion planning and implementation practices. They will also be well versed with MS office tools and have experience working with platforms similar to Shopify. They will be a team player with the ability to drive results and multitask with internal and external teams, and will be able to partner centric and interpersonal effectiveness.
