RPO Recruitment is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to enhance our client's financial team. This role involves a comprehensive range of bookkeeping responsibilities, including managing receivables, payables, treasury operations, inventory valuation, and supporting fundamental accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Receivable Management:
    • Generate and manage customer invoices, ensuring accurate payment allocation.
    • Oversee customer accounts and monitor outstanding debts.
    • Conduct collection efforts to secure timely payments.
  • Accounts Payable Management:
    • Handle vendor invoices and ensure proper payment processing.
    • Keep precise records of all accounts payable transactions.
    • Perform reconciliations of accounts payable statements.
  • Treasury Operations:
    • Administer company bank accounts and oversee cash flow management.
    • Prepare and execute payment disbursements.
    • Reconcile bank statements regularly.
  • Inventory Valuation:
    • Ensure accurate maintenance of inventory records.
    • Assist in calculating and assigning costs to inventory items.
  • Fundamental Accounting Support:
    • Assist in documenting daily financial transactions.
    • Prepare essential financial reports such as general ledgers and trial balances.
    • Facilitate the closing of accounting periods (monthly, quarterly, annually).

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping.
  • Proficient in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero); experience with Business Central is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory costing methods (FIFO, LIFO, etc.).
  • Knowledge of VAT regulations applicable in South Africa.
  • Experience in a related industry is advantageous.

Compensation

  • Salary: R240,000
