Director of Health Economics and Policy Research

Aj Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Health Economics and Policy Research Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the unit, managing a multidisciplinary team of researchers, and developing a visionary research agenda that addresses critical health economic and policy challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the strategy and direction for the unit, maintaining and growing its impact and relevance in the health economics, law, and policy environment.
- Team Management: Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of researchers and scholars, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Research Agenda: Develop and execute a visionary research agenda that addresses critical health economic and policy challenges, collaborating with governmental bodies, NGOs, and international organizations to influence health policy and practice.
- Funding and Resource Management: Secure funding and manage resources to sustain and expand the unit's research initiatives, ensuring effective financial management and compliance.
- Mentorship and Development: Mentor the next generation of health economists and policy experts, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their career goals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD or MBBCH Degree or equivalent in Health Economics, Health Law, or Public Health, or a related field with an associate professor qualification.
- 5-10 years' experience working in a senior position in a research environment, with expertise in grant funding, stakeholder engagement, strategy development, and implementation in a health research environment.
- Outstanding academic record, with a strong track record of research and publication.
- Excellent networking and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and thought leaders.
- Confident and competent communication skills, with the ability to engage with the media and communicate complex research findings to diverse audiences.
