A prestigious opportunity exists for a certified chartered accountant to serve as a Strategic Consolidation Accountant, overseeing IFRS-compliant consolidated reporting for a prominent South African investment holding company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing annual and interim consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Liaise with investee companies to gather necessary information and facilitate the consolidation process.
  • Evaluate corporate transactions and contracts to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Manage equity accounting of associates and joint ventures, ensuring accurate representation in financial reports.
  • Prepare various consolidated disclosure notes, providing transparency into the company's financial operations.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to obtain sign-off on work performed, maintaining the highest standards of accountability.
  • Review financial statements of the Group's investee companies and subsidiary entities, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing iXBRL submissions to the CIPC, staying up-to-date with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain accounting information systems, enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop reports and presentations for board meetings, communicating key financial insights effectively.
  • Oversee daily payments, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Complete quarterly South African Reserve Bank forms, meeting regulatory obligations.
  • Support the Financial Manager with administrative tasks, contributing to a seamless operational experience.
  • Pursue various ad hoc projects, applying expertise to drive business growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • CA(SA) qualification is essential.
  • Between 2 and 5 years of post-article experience, with exposure to complex consolidations activities.
  • Stay current with IFRS and Companies Act developments, ensuring adherence to evolving regulatory standards.
