Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist to join our R&D team at Kerry. As a Senior Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting R&D projects through the development process, working closely with the wider R&D team to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement industry-recognized methods to understand key commercial requirements of the ingredient industry.
  • Conduct sensory testing and application screening to support new solutions, ensuring that ingredient functionality into final products fits the purpose of the customer.
  • Develop food system formulations and related applications stability performance through demonstrated understanding of food formulation and chemical interactions.
  • Interact and troubleshoot with customers on application concerns, developing application knowledge within assigned food categories and becoming recognized as a solutions partner by food product developers.
  • Assist customers with technical issues that may arise, participating in designated R&D projects and ensuring appropriate documentation of experimental trials and outcomes to facilitate scale up and product transfer to manufacturing.
  • Maintain the calibration of laboratory instruments, proper calibration records, and laboratory supply stock documents, and update key learnings from work.
  • Build further scientific knowledge through interactions with senior scientists and/or academic experts, literature reviews, regulatory monitoring, and application studies, sourcing external literature to guide thinking on specific projects.
  • Establish strong relationships with selected academic researchers and universities to strengthen the use of application abilities and pilot plant capabilities to strengthen Kerry as a leader.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, scientific meetings, and short courses as necessary, making credible presentations to educate customers, students, and industry contacts.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, or similar field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience within the Food and Beverage industry, as a Scientist or related experience.
  • Experience in building of Customer-Supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge and experience of Product Costing is an advantage.
