Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for managing purchase ledger accounts.
  • Oversee the daily operation of accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely recording of supplier invoices and payments.
  • Supervise and train staff members responsible for accounts payable tasks.
  • Collaborate with purchasing departments to optimize the purchase ledger process.
  • Ensure accurate foreign currency exchange rates are used for invoice processing.
  • Review and approve supplier invoices before processing.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in GRN Control accounts and goods in transit.
  • Prepare and maintain accrual lists for items not accounted for in the Forward System.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records through an effective filing system.
  • Generate reports for payment runs and verify compliance with financial procedures.
  • Address supplier queries and concerns promptly.
  • Process card transactions correctly, allocating them to the right general ledger account.
  • Support inventory management tasks, including stock counts and fixed asset verifications.
  • Contribute to budget and forecast preparation, providing accounting expertise.
  • Comply with all Group Key Financial Control Procedures.

This role demands excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in FMCG or Manufacturing environments and a National Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting are required.
