About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Director to oversee the smooth operation of our maintenance and engineering department.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the entire complex is structurally sound, all plant and equipment is operating at optimum levels, and overall safety regulations are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, delegate, and control all activities of Repairs and Maintenance Department
  • Make a monthly duty roster for staff, allocating areas of responsibility and shifts
  • Administer HR and Payroll activities in collaboration with the HR Department
  • Develop a departmental training and development plan and be custodian of staff development and mentorship
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections to identify and address any maintenance, safety, and security issues
  • Plan, implement, and maintain an annual ROOMS, APARTMENT, and PUBLIC AREA CARE PLAN with preventative maintenance and repair work
  • Handle all procurement related to repairs, maintenance, property safety, and security
Risk Management
  • Facilitate risk-related audits and action items highlighted in these audits and make required improvements
  • Ensure all complex fire and emergency equipment are regularly serviced and fully functional always
  • Ensure the complex health, safety, and emergency plan is updated regularly and maintained, and that fire safety and emergency drills are carried out regularly at least once a quarter
  • Ensure the complex CCTV and other related security systems are checked regularly, always maintained, and fully operational
Requirements
  • National higher diploma or degree in Engineering or facilities management
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar volume development or estate
  • At least one vocational qualification as either electrician, plumber, or similar
