This is a full-time position based in Western Cape, Cape Town.
Job DescriptionThe Electric Vehicle Program Director will lead our team in developing and executing electric vehicle programs from conceptualization to production. This includes planning, coordinating, and managing cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
You will work closely with clients to understand their requirements and ensure they are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing budgets and operating plans for programs, as well as writing program funding proposals.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with experience in program management and a strong understanding of the automotive industry. They should also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute electric vehicle programs from conceptualization to production
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality deliverables
- Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and ensure they are met
- Develop budgets and operating plans for programs
- Write program funding proposals
- Mentor and motivate team members to achieve project goals
- Report to Senior Management on project schedule, budget performance, and risk mitigation
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electronic Engineering
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Automotive Engineering Development
- 3-5 years of experience in Program Management
- Good understanding of automotive industry stakeholders, practices, and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication (English)
- Advanced computer literacy with MS Excel and MS Projects
