Job Title: Financial Manager

At The Recruitment Council, we're seeking a skilled Financial Manager to lead our finance department. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with our accounting team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and review financial reconciliations and monthly accounting processes.
  • Compile management reports and perform financial analysis.
  • Manage cashflow, investments, and approve payments and collections.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of control accounts, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Handle VAT and Income Tax calculations and returns.
  • Prepare statutory and regulatory returns.
  • Compile annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  • Provide financial insights to management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
  • Resolve discrepancies and long-outstanding items in balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Drive improvements in systems, processes, and internal controls.


Requirements:

  • CA (SA) qualification with 2 years post-article experience.
  • Experience in the Financial Services or Short-Term Insurance industry is an advantage.
  • Strong technical skills with solid IFRS knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting packages like Great Plains, SAP, or Accpac is beneficial.
