Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager

Oxyon People Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environment professional to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as implementing policies and procedures to prevent accidents and minimize environmental impact.
Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement HSE Policies: Create and implement effective HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct Risk Assessments and Audits: Conduct thorough risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate Incidents and Accidents: Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop plans to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and Provide Training: Develop and provide training on HSE policies and procedures to ensure a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Collaborate with Management and Employees: Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Maintain Health and Safety Files: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety files for plants and facilities.
- Monitor and Report on HSE Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
- Review Contractor HSE Files: Review contractor HSE files to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Ensure Compliance with OHS Act and Environmental Legislation: Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Environmental Legislation.
- Manage and Coordinate Emergency Response Plans: Manage and coordinate emergency response plans and procedures to ensure a safe and effective response to emergencies.
- Liaise with External Parties: Liaise with external parties, such as regulatory bodies and consultants, to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in HSE management, preferably in a similar role in operations and maintenance for Solar PV power plants or Construction Site.
- Certification: Relevant certification, such as SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or ISO 45001.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of South African HSE regulations and standards, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions, and strong leadership and management skills.
- Registration: Registration with the South African Council for Project and Construction.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
