Oxyon People Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement HSE Policies: Create and implement comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Risk Assessment and Audits: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and minimize environmental impact.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop plans to prevent recurrence, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Training and Development: Develop and provide training on HSE policies and procedures to ensure employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safety culture, ensuring open communication and a proactive approach to HSE issues.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, providing regular updates to management and stakeholders.
- Contractor Management: Review and ensure compliance with contractor HSE files, ensuring all contractors adhere to our HSE standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OHS Act, Environmental Legislation, and other relevant regulations, staying up-to-date with changes and updates.
- Emergency Response: Manage and coordinate emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring a swift and effective response to any incidents.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external parties, such as regulatory bodies and consultants, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in HSE management, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
- Certifications: Relevant certification, such as SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or ISO 45001.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of South African HSE regulations and standards, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions, and registration with the South African Council for Project and Construction.
- Leadership and Management: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- International Standards: Knowledge of international HSE standards and best practices, with experience in auditing and management systems.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
