About the RoleThis position plays a crucial role in assessing claims for individual life benefits, ensuring that underwriting and rating information are accurate and complete. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, learning and growing in a specialized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review new business and renewal proposals to ensure acceptability and completeness of underwriting and rating information.
- Provide price quotations for underwriters and refer unusual or complex cases to senior colleagues.
- Carry out allocated research and analysis to support the development, validation, and improvement of automated underwriting processes and systems.
- Gather, monitor, and analyze risk data, recommending further investigation where necessary.
Requirements:
- Matric with Biology, Mathematics, or Accounting essential.
- Completed medical/medically aligned degree or three-year related diploma preferred.
- Claims assessing experience an added advantage.
- Specialized medical knowledge through learning or experience essential.
- Experience in the Financial Service Industry advantageous.
