Position Overview:

Recruitment Matters is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Solutions Architect/Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architectural and Infrastructure Design: Create and design robust IT solutions that effectively combine on-premises and cloud systems, ensuring optimal availability, scalability, and security.
  • Project Management and Deployment: Oversee and direct large-scale IT initiatives from initial concept to full deployment, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Technical Leadership: Offer technical direction and mentorship to junior architects and IT personnel, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and innovation.
  • System Integration: Guarantee the smooth integration of diverse systems, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, while enhancing performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Security Management: Establish and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management, to safeguard sensitive information and systems.
  • Maintenance and Support: Supervise the upkeep and support of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage solutions, networks, and security systems.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess and enhance the performance of IT systems, implementing necessary improvements.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Formulate and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime during system failures.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to comprehend business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain thorough documentation for architecture design and implementation processes.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure all solutions comply with industry standards and best practices for security governance and compliance.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage partnerships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure optimal service and support for the organization.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience with on-premises Microsoft technologies, particularly Active Directory and Windows Server.
  • Deep understanding of VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere and vCenter.
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing solutions on AWS and Azure, including services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Strong grasp of networking principles, including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
  • Experience in implementing and managing security best practices in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems and devise innovative solutions.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
  • Adaptability: Quick to adjust to new technologies and evolving business requirements.
  • Strategic Vision: Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, focused on long-term business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in IT, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior solutions architect capacity.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), and MCSE/CCNA.
