Salary

R750,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Finance & Management Accountant to assist in the financial processing, reconciling, and reporting of financial information for a factory within a centralized accounting environment. The successful candidate will provide financial support to the business, driving business objectives while supporting improved quality decision-making.

  • Manage accounts payable, staff, and review reconciliations.
  • Assume responsibility for the financial function and processes of the plant up to trial balance.
  • Assist the Financial Manager in monthly cost analysis exercises.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects relating to the finance function.
  • Prepare and process month-end journals.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assume responsibility for the financial administration of fixed assets information.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor internal control procedures for all financial functions.
  • Prepare weekly information and assist in financial reporting.
  • Consolidate industrial files for the current and previous months.
  • Upload industrial files to IPM (Industrial Production Management) on time.
  • Manage milk balances between Milk Collection and the Plant.
  • Review GMP (solids tracking) on the system with a focus on daily understanding.
  • Collaborate with Plant Financial Managers and Production Accountants on weekly and monthly visits.
  • Enhance labour tracking files and other KPI-driven analyses.

Financials

  • Review purchase price variances in Industrial versus Procurement with reconciliation.
  • Review stock losses monthly.
  • Review stock days on packaging, ingredients, consumables, and spares.
  • Review open orders on system ACP012.
  • Review usage and price variances.

Budget

  • Assist with budget consolidation and ensure variances are explainable.
  • Cross-balance with various departments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • B.Com or equivalent CA (SA), CIMA advantageous.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supervision experience necessary.
  • Computer literacy, integrated system experience, and advanced Excel knowledge advantageous.
  • CIMA/Cost and Management Accounting degree.
  • At least an Accounting Degree, preferably with Honors or postgraduate qualification.
  • Good analytical skills, accuracy, and details-orientated computer literacy: Excel and related MS Office Packages.
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a financial function.
  • Experience in a FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of BPCS System or similar ERP System and Reporting Tools.
  • PREFERENCE for experience within the Dairy Industry.
  • Knowledge of a standard costing system (preferably BPCS) and understanding of profitability analysis.
  • Collaborative management style.
  • A resilient individual with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills.
  • Customer-oriented, assertiveness, and problem-solving skills.
  • Result-driven, business acumen, and good decision-making as well as strong leadership skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
