Job Title: Editor - Fashion

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trend research and leading editorial brainstorm sessions to drive innovative fashion content.
  • Manage the editorial process of fashion magazines from concept through to end product, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proofread, edit, and write articles to meet publication standards, maintaining the highest level of quality and consistency.
  • Ensure all work produced is consistent with the brand's vision and values.
  • Review, approve, and sign-off page proofs before they go to press, guaranteeing accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage a team of writers and freelance content producers, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional output.
  • Oversee photography, design, and artwork to be used in the publication, ensuring alignment with the brand's aesthetic.
  • Meet with writers and designers to discuss features, layouts, and artwork, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Comply with media law and industry regulations, ensuring the brand's reputation and integrity are maintained.
  • Commission and send regular briefs to freelance writers, managing the content creation process from start to finish.
  • Network actively at industry events, staying up-to-date with the latest fashion trends and developments.

Key Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in journalism, marketing, or communications.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in print and digital production, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, with a strong understanding of design principles and best practices.
  • A creative and innovative personality, with a passion for fashion and a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to work under pressure, with a high level of energy and drive.
  • Great organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to nurture long-term relationships with key publication influencers, with a deep understanding of the fashion industry.
  • A natural leader, with strong decision-making and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and influence target audiences, with a keen interest in pop culture, tech trends, and the tech industry.
