Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at HR Genie. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the on-time completion of projects, programming, testing, and commissioning facilities to the project scope of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Define and set up process flowcharts and sequence of operation for required facilities
    • Establish the most effective control system configuration to achieve required specifications
    • Apply advanced control techniques to production processes
  • Programming and Commissioning
    • Program, test, and commission facilities within allocated project constraints
    • Develop, improve, and refine software/code used in projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency within the control systems
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting
    • Problem solve, fault find, and troubleshoot existing installations
    • Aid with commissioning, installation, and controls processes
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Confidently interface and communicate with other technical professionals
    • Liaise confidently and constructively with customers from time to time during projects
Requirements
  • Formal tertiary education in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of PLC programming experience in the automotive industry
  • PLC logic and programming with various PLCs, including Siemens, Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.
  • Experience with interfacing SCADA, motion control, robotic, and measuring systems to PLC applications
  • Computer and PLC system configuration knowledge and understanding
  • Able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming simulation, testing, and start-up
  • Practical understanding and ability to troubleshoot electrical circuitry
  • Sound understanding of facility commissioning requirements with at least 1 year exposure in a projects environment
  • Practical usage of MS Office software or similar
